Welcome to our website and the 2007 Season. Two years
into our five year development plan and a lot has been
learned. The new academy structure produced four international
caps, highlighted by David Joyce of Castlebar captaining
the the Irish U-15 side and going on to sign for Birmingham
City. Niall Walsh was flown to Liverpool for a number
of games and Eoin Torphy completed the trio of schoolboy
caps. Karen Lilly was capped from the schoolgirls section
to complete a memorable season on the International front.
The price paid unwittingly, for our academy success, was
that we took our eye off the domestic scene; tables and
fixtures were not dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
This situation has now been rectified. Automatic updating
of tables through this website with the co-operation of
the referees society, and the implementation of the soccerbot
system has ensured that all weekely information will be
accessable to all clubs on an on-going basis. Clubs are
been asked to accept responsibility for their fixtures
by acquainting themselves with the fixture timetable and
adhering to it in a professional manner.
Make use of your squads. Make all players feel part of
your club. The academies will accomodate elite players,
clubs should accomodate all players. Concentrate on making
all your players welcome in your club. Do not be afraid
to ask the association for help or advice.
Inter league teams exist because of the clubs, clubs exist
because of the players, all players want to play football.
By working together we will all have an enjoyable 2005
season. Best of luck to everyone.
