Match Summaries

The U.14s travelled to Abbeycarton, Longford, to take on their Midland counterparts and for the team, it was a good day in the office as they came out with a 3-2 win with Jamie Fallon netting a brace and Evan Regan getting the other strike. A number of players played their first competitive game for the county and it would certainly be a boost to their confidence.
The U.16’s, a team that contained a number of U.15’s, pulled off a massive result against an experienced Galway team that won the U.15 version last season with a 1-0 win. Derby County bound Ryan Connolly grabbed the first half winner and Mayo had Adrian Leonard outstanding in defence and Michael Schlingermann in top form in goal. Danny Fallon broke up the play in midfield and Ryan Connolly was always a threat while substitute, Cian Costello could have made it 2-0 near the end.
